The NSW Office of Fair Trading – OLRS (Online License Renewal System)

In Brief:
Subcontracted by Unisys Australia, PK successfully delivered the Online Licence Renewal System for The NSW Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

This system allows NSW business communities to renew and process their Business Registration & Business Licenses over the Internet. This equates to approximately 500,000 users state-wide.

Microsoft Biztalk Server was utilised to enable third party verifications. These are performed accessing disparate systems at various NSW Government Agencies.

BizTalk Server provides the guarantee of delivery and receipt required by a system such as this. This process was previously a manual and time consuming task carried out by OFT staff.

The system integrates an imaging subsystem that captures the completed web forms that end users fill in and submit. These images are created using Crystal Reports and are exported to .PDF and .TIFF file format. The resulting documents can later be printed for legal purposes to verify data as entered by the user.

License types that can be renewed using OLRS include:

• Business Name Registration;
• Motor Dealer Licences;
• Travel Agent Licences; and
• Pawnbroker & Second-hand Dealer Licences.
